Are you passionate about the string bass and considering honing your talent to play professionally? This Performance major would be a good fit. With its own recording studio and a host of performance ensembles, the Fred Fox School of Music is one of the highest-ranked in the nation. Students seeking their Bachelor of Music in Performance with a String Bass emphasis take 89 units of music courses. In addition to choosing electives, students satisfy core classes in music literature, music history, pedagogy, orchestration, conducting, piano and applied lessons. As part of the requirements, they audition for placement in a large conducted ensemble, where they'll have the opportunity to perform with other high-caliber student musicians.
