Students are admitted into Pre-Business and will apply to Operations and Supply Chain Management major through a competitive and selective process to gain admission. The field originated in manufacturing (where it is called production management) and deals with the management of productive activities. In manufacturing, the creation of physical products is the primary focus; in recent years, the concepts and techniques of operations management have been increasingly applied to the creation of services, extending to most types of productive systems.
