Prepare for a career in an emerging field that's responsible for some of the most important developments in human health. Bioinformatics is the development of innovative methods and software for understanding biological data. The field of systems biology aims to decipher the complexity of biological systems using a holistic model for biological research. The Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics with an emphasis in Systems Biology looks at computational and mathematical analysis of biological systems. The B.S. program takes a biology-based, interdisciplinary approach to coursework, drawing from studies in biology, computer science, engineering, bioinformatics, math and statistics. Students graduate equipped to predict how biological systems change over time, and under which conditions, and to create solutions to the planet's health and environmental challenges.
