Program Description

Accelerated Master’s Program – BA/MLS Program

Qualified BA in Law students with a minimum 3.3 GPA have the opportunity to pursue an accelerated track to a Master of Legal Studies (MLS) from colorado Law. After taking 12 units of foundational law courses at the graduate level during their senior year, students accepted into the accelerated program take an additional 18 units in Legal Analysis, Research and Writing, and upper-level electives with J.D. students. Core Coursework Requirements

In order to earn an MLS degree, students must complete a total of 30 units, including foundational courses in core substantive areas of the law encompassing contracts, torts, property, constitutional law, procedure, and legal research and writing. For the remaining units, students may choose from a wide range of electives, including related courses offered by other schools or departments at the University of colorado. https://law.colorado.edu/mls-program-details

  • LAW 501       Procedure (civil, criminal, and administrative procedure), 3 units, minimum grade required: C
  • LAW 502A    The American Common Law System I (torts, contracts), 3 units, minimum grade required: C
  • LAW 502B    The American Common Law System II (property), 3 units, minimum grade required: C
  • LAW 504       The American Public Law System (constitutional law), 3 units, minimum grade required: C
  • LAW 507       Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research. 3 units, minimum grade required: C
